Taming the elusive Black Perigord Truffle and bringing it from the farm
to the table.

The Good Truffle Company cultivates the black winter truffle in Northern Virginia. Our goal is to bring the Black Truffle from “farm to table” to provide the Black Truffle to local fine dining cuisine. We aim to provide quality fresh truffles for restauranteurs to enjoy!

What is a black truffle?

The Black Truffle (Tuber Melanosporum) is known as one of the world's most expensive edible mushrooms. Initially found in the Perigord region in France, the truffle is a dark fruiting body with blackish-brown skin that is texturally covered in cusps. The interior flesh is brown with white veins. It exudes an intense aroma with an earthy taste.

The truffle has been enjoyed as early as the Antiquities, through the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and the 1700s to present. The flavor that the truffle brings to dishes has been sought after as well as the reported health benefits from virility to anti-cancer properties.
